Success Stories
What they’re saying
In May 2021 Manzano High School began working with Talent and Development Secondary (TDS) to develop a school- wide comprehensive student success system. Manzano High School’s Student Success System really took off when we were tasked or challenged by TDS with creating an intervention map. We quickly realized how important it was to record everything Manzano was doing to help students. After recording all the interventions we worked together to identify which Tier of Support each intervention belonged. TDS helped guide us as we looked at data and later met with students to identify which interventions were working and which ones were not. After getting lots of feedback from students, teachers, community partners and collaborating partners Manzano’s Intervention Map became a “one stop shop” for teachers to not only access interventions and student success documents, but also a plethora of resources. Manzano’s Intervention Map is always “UNDER CONSTRUCTION” as it needs to change to meet the needs of our students, staff and as TDS continue to help us move forward with a “design thinking” approach.

ColoradoI learned how to use what our school already does but to just rework it. Sometimes you think you have perfect things in place but you really don’t know and that’s okay. We were able to be exposed to other group ideas that I’d never thought of.

Principal Session FeedbackI was reminded of the trauma that a lot of our kids deal with, and that we need to figure out the root issue that might be causing their behavior.

Session FeedbackI am so excited to implement EWS (Early Warning Systems) into our school and get others to buy into something that can be easier for staff and helpful for students. I am excited to make this a part of my school.
